When Haarlem Marketing and entrepreneurs in Haarlem saw new chances and opportunities to put Haarlem on the map as a business destination, they formed an advisory board and explored what would be needed to attract business visitors. They reached the unanimous conclusion that the city greatly needed a neutral and impartial agency that could serve as the intermediate connector between supply and demand. And thus the Haarlem Convention Bureau was founded on February 1, 2017 and is now strengthening the ties between cultural and tourist attractions and supporting their success by joining their forces and putting venues and other partners in the spotlights.
Venues, hotels, hospitality and suppliers
When contractors find a destination, they often need several additional service providers to turn their conference, meeting or event into a success. In first place, these providers are venues, hotels and hospitality services, followed by suppliers such as audio-visual partners, catering, managing agencies, transport operators and decorators.
Social activity programme; suspense needs relaxation
More and more (multi-day) gatherings are not about the main work-related activities alone. Meetings, trainings and conferences are increasingly combined with activities that are associated with free time and entertainment. These social programs, such as diners, shopping trips or excursions, form a large part of the travel patterns and expenses of business visitors.
Independent consulting partner
Haarlem Convention Bureau can act as the independent consultant for every (international) event and congress organiser, both during the search for accommodation and when designing the social programme.
